In this role, you will provide essential social-emotional and behavioral support to students, helping to foster academic achievement, personal growth, and overall well-being. You will collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure each student receives the appropriate care and support.
Responsibilities:

Provide direct social work services to students based on individual needs and IEP goals

Collaborate with teachers, families, and school staff to support student social, emotional, and academic development

Assist in implementing behavior or educational plans as needed

Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation

Participate in meetings and provide insight into student performance, needs, and well-being

Connect families with community resources and provide crisis intervention when necessary

Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
Qualifications:

Current Michigan Social Work License (e.g., LMSW or LCSW) or eligibility for school social work licensure

Masters degree in Social Work (MSW)

Experience working in school or child-focused settings, preferably with diverse student populations

Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills

Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Knowledge of behavioral interventions, counseling techniques, social-emotional learning, and family engagement strategies
